Sharjah: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) held recently at its headquarters a coordination meeting with the Sharjah Police with the participation of representatives from a number of local departments.

The meeting aimed to discuss the launch of a number of community initiatives, as well as to strengthen the constant cooperation between the SCCI and the Sharjah Police.

This would help contribute to integrating the concerted efforts to realize the economic development in the Emirate of Sharjah and the relentless pursuit of serving the society in general and the business community in particular.

Present at the meeting were Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Representative Committee of the Real Estate Sector Business Group, Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Al Marri, Director of the Community Police Department, Sharjah Police, Jamal Bu Zinjal, Head of Media Department, SCCI.

The meeting was also attended by Ali Bamatraf, Manager of Performance & Excellence Progress at Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) and the permanent member of the Representative Committee of the Real Estate Sector Business Group, Adel Omar Salem, Director of Control and Municipal Inspection Department at Sharjah Municipality, Sawsan Butti Hadid, Head of Demolition and Maintenance Department at Sharjah Municipality, Lieutenant Colonel Hamad bin Qasmul, Lieutenant Colonel Jassim Al Suwaidi, and Captain Hussein Suleiman, Amjad Awad al Karim, Head of the Sectoral Business Groups Department, and Fatima Khamis Al-Shehhi Executive Operations, Sectoral Business Groups Department at the SCCI.

Promoting the Business Environment in Sharjah

Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of this meeting in terms of sharing experiences and developing joint initiatives and projects. It also reflects the keenness to strengthen partnership relations to achieve mutual benefit, so as positively contribute to the development process in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Al Suwaidi pointed to the SCCI’s readiness to support all initiatives of the Sharjah Police and various local departments and provide the necessary expertise for its success, noting the importance of maintaining channels of communication with various government sectors to identify the challenges and find solutions to them, as well as to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and strive to improve the performance of economic activity in the Emirate in general and the real estate sector in particular.

“This would help enhance the business environment in the Emirate of Sharjah and consolidate the position of the emirate as an incubating environment for business, thanks to its economic qualities, investment opportunities and its attractive business environment for all investors around the world,” added Al Suwaidi.

Fostering Communication

Jamal Bu Zinjal expressed SCCI’s appreciation to the General Command of Sharjah Police and government departments participating in the meeting. This notable participation reflects the keenness to activate joint work to launch quality initiatives that meet the aspirations of the business community and contribute to enhancing stability in the economic, industrial and commercial sectors in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Zinjal pointed out that the SCCI is keen to activate communication with various government and private sectors and follow up the latest developments that will enhance the achievements of the business sector, as well as listening to all proposals and initiatives in order to upgrade the services provided by the SCCI.

He commended the strenuous efforts of Sharjah Police to ensure security stability, which is a key element and catalyst for economic prosperity and sustainable development.

The Quality of Security Services

For his part, Lt. Col. Ahmed Mohammed Al Marri, said: “Through our meetings with the SCCI, the first representative of the business community in the Emirate of Sharjah, Sharjah Police aims to discuss ways to improve the quality of security services in accordance with the highest international standards.”

Al-Marri emphasized Sharjah Police’s keenness to bolster all initiatives aiming to enhance safety and security for the society. These initiatives include practicing economic activities and organizing their mechanisms across the emirate. This would help achieve one of the most important objectives of the national agenda of the “UAE Vision 2021”, which is to place the UAE one of the best countries in the world in the field of security and safety.

The participants also highlighted the importance of enhancing joint action and pursuing efforts to enable the business environment to deal with any kind of emergency challenges, stressing the need to create all conditions that ensure security stability, which is the main pillar of growth, economic prosperity and sustainable development in the best interest of the country and the progress of the private sector and its sustainable prosperity.
