Riyadh: Deposits at banks operating in Saudi Arabia increased by 4.5% year-on-year or SAR 63.3 billion in June.

Total deposits amounted to SAR 1.677 trillion by the end of June, from SAR 1.669 trillion in the same month a year earlier, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) said.

Demand deposits reached SAR 1.069 trillion in June, accounting for 63.75% of total deposits.

Time and savings deposits went recorded SAR 433.33 billion in June, while quasi-monetary deposits hit SAR 174.87 billion during the same period.
