Dubai, UAE: Dubai Courts and Union Coop, the largest Consumer Cooperative in the UAE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at implementing the concept of Corporate social responsibility and developing a fruitful framework of the partnership between the government and the private sectors by financially supporting the Courts of Good by Dubai Courts.

The initiative comes in response to the generous initiative ‘Year of Tolerance’ launched by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan the President of the UAE, to establish UAE as a Global capital for tolerance and to affirm the value of ‘tolerance’ as an institutional act that promotes sustainable development and impacts the society in a positive manner.

The memorandum was signed by Mr. Abdul Rahim Ahli, Executive Director for Establishment Support and Communication in Dubai Courts and Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness and Marketing Department, Union Coop.

Taresh Al Mansoori, Director-General of Dubai Courts, said: “The Courts of Good initiative came after studying the aspects that the department can carry out through its pioneering projects and sectors, and benefiting the society, as the campaign aims to relieve the deprived. In addition to strengthening the mechanisms of cooperation between the Government and Private entities, and working to increase the effectiveness of existing cooperation in the field of community services, which contribute to the effective translation of the principle of community and corporate social responsibility through the provision of concrete and practical initiatives.”

Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness and Marketing dept. at Union Coop, said: "Our main objective of signing the agreement is to develop the spirit of social solidarity, strengthen the bonds of cooperation among the members of society, provide social aid to the beneficiaries and bridge the gap between the members of society, Achieving a decent living for all members of society, as well as contributing to the payment of debts of insolvent people, who have been sentenced by Dubai courts. "
