Abu Dhabi-UAE:  – Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) announced that ExCeL London, London’s premier event venue and a wholly owned subsidiary of ADNEC, will host season six of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship (Formula E).

The electric-powered car race, hailed as the closest, most intense racing series on the planet, will run from 25 to 26 July 2020.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC, said: “ExCeL London’s winning bid for Formula E continues ADNEC Group’s series of local and international achievements. The win aligns with our objective of hosting the world’s largest events at our venues, made possible due to our ongoing collaboration with our public and private sector partners. Such events strengthen these relationships and contribute to enhancing the competitiveness and attractiveness of our offerings.”

He added: “The selection of ExCeL London by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) validates the outstanding capabilities and competitive positioning of our venues at the international level. We owe these accomplishments to our sustained investment in the development of our facilities and services, as evidenced by the rise of ExCeL London since ADNEC assumed its management in 2008.”

Al Dhaheri also noted that the spirit of Formula E resonates with ADNEC’s goal of implementing the highest standards of sustainability across its venues. He reiterated ADNEC’s commitment to making the sixth season of Formula E the most successful one in the championship’s history through providing a truly unique setting for teams, drivers and spectators.

The selection of ExCeL London to host the electric car racing extravaganza is one more feather in the cap for ADNEC, which has earned a reputation as the venue of choice for high-profile global events among international organisations. The company offers state-of-the-art venues, cutting-edge facilities and seamless connectivity with key international markets.
