UAE – H.E. Dr Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of UAE Infrastructure and Chairman of the UAE Federal Transport Authority, was announced as winner of the Global Maritime Community Award during the 15th anniversary Seatrade Maritime Awards Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa on Sunday night (28 October 2018).

Also amongst the Personality winners were: Personality of the Year 2018 - Mrs Jasamin Fichte, Managing Partner, Fichte & Co; Integration of Women in the Maritime Sector Award - Dr Noura Al Dhaheri, Chief Executive Officer, Maqta Gateway; Outstanding Achievement Award 2018 - Mr Saeed Al Malik, Chairman, International Shipsupplier & Services Association (ISSA) and President & Chief Executive Officer, Middle East Fuji LLC and Lifetime Achievement Award 2018 - H.E. Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, Chairman, Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard Co. (ASRY).

Now in its 15th edition, Seatrade Maritime Awards continue to honour individuals, organisations and companies from across the regional shipping industry. This year’s event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulaymen, Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Chairman of Dubai Maritime City Authority and Chairman of Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) and was hosted b international broadcaster, Tom Urquhart.

According to Chris Hayman, Chairman of Seatrade: “The Seatrade Maritime Awards were established to offer a platform to promote significant contribution and pioneering advancements across the maritime and shipping world and along with the Seatrade Awards in London and the Seatrade Maritime Awards in Asia, are now widely regarded as the maritime premier awards globally.”

The awards, in time-old tradition, remain a secret until the presentation ceremony and the winners are unveiled to great fanfare and celebration, this year at Atlantis, the Palm, Dubai, UAE.
