Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: The You Go Morocco 2018 campaign comprising of a series of workshops dedicated to promote family tourism in Morocco, has drawn the attendance of 50 leading travel and tourism companies from the UAE, the GCC region, Middle East and Asia.

The week-long show organised by the Morocco National Tourist Office for the Middle East in partnership with Nirvana Travel and Tourism, saw the participation of more than 200 officials and professionals representing industry stakeholders from both Morocco and the rest of the world. Moroccan tourist attractions, heritage sites, luxury hotels, resorts, an extensive assortment of accommodation options, and entertainment facilities took centre stage at the workshops which took place from 14- 18 October in Casablanca.

The campaign was designed specifically with the Arab market in mind and focused on encouraging delegations from the UAE and the GCC region to promote Moroccan tourism and its specialised touristic offerings within the Arab communities. 

In a statement given to the press at Kenzi Tower Hotel in Casablanca, Mohamed Sadiq Shaker, Director for the Morocco National Tourist Office for the Middle East and Asia commented, “You Go Morocco 2018 provides an ideal platform for Gulf-Indian travel and tourism organisations with plenty of opportunities for business partnerships and agreements”.

Shaker added, “The tour aims to increase cooperation between travel companies from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Jordan and India, and its Moroccan counterparts, which is vital in boosting the number of inbound tourists and touristic investments to Morocco”.

He revealed a comprehensive, year-long strategy has been produced to further raise awareness among the UAE, the GCC region, the Middle East and Asia on the developed tourist opportunities in Morocco which caters to international travellers and families.

“Following the second edition of You Go Morocco 2018, I expect to see a remarkable growth in the number of visitors from the Gulf countries, Egypt, Jordan and India to Morocco in the upcoming year.”

He revealed that Morocco has enhanced its infrastructure, leisure and entertainment amenities and touristic attractions in order to be positioned as an idyllic holiday destination, armed with the ability to offer diverse and unique experiences for families.

Commenting on the launch of You Go Morocco 2018, Omar Al Ali, the Executive Director of Communications & Projects of Nirvana Travel & Tourism said, “It is our pleasure to host You Go Morocco this year at the economic capital of Morocco, Casablanca. We look forward to meeting and collaborating with our counterparts from the GCC region, Egypt, Jordan, and India and contribute to the growth of Morocco’s tourism industry”.

Al Ali said the workshops educated its participants on Moroccan world heritage sites, in addition to mountain, sports, environmental and cultural tourism in Morocco. Considered as the most important promotional event that caters to Morocco’s tourism industry, You Go Morocco is key in achieving the target number of international tourists from the UAE, GCC region and the Middle East to Morocco.

The platform will generate niche packages and programs aimed at families which offers the best of Morocco and will cater to visitors across all age groups.
