Amman, March 27, 2016

Under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya Bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society, The 2nd Electronic & Mobile Payments in the Arab World Conference will take place in Amman on the 4th of April 2016 at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The conference comes in the context of the rapidly evolving dynamics and the emerging technologies of payments in the Arab World. This evolution, which is fuelled by banks, payment service providers, telecom operators and regulators, in addition to new financial technology market players - FinTechs - can be witnessed across the region. The adoption levels of new technology is increasing exponentially as well; although Cash on Delivery is still heavily used by e-commerce users, an increasing percentage of the population in the Arab World is warming up to concept of electronic and mobile payments. Moreover, the introduction of advanced Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) solutions in a number of countries across the region has also contributed to the adoption of electronic and mobile payment services by users.

Merchants and service providers have also realized the massive potential offered by electronic and mobile payments, and are now active supporters of these technologies. The innovation is further fuelled by financial technology companies, which are starting to grab a piece of the payments pie, whether individually or through partnerships with banks and telecom operators.

"After the success of 2015's conference, Arab Advisors Group is proud to organize the 2nd Electronic & Mobile Payments in the Arab World Conference, acknowledging the importance and impact of electronic and mobile payments on the financial and economic inclusion in the emerging markets. We at Arab Advisors believe that this conference serves as a platform for all stakeholders in this field including banks, financial institutions, telecom operators, merchants and payment networks to discuss the latest developments and the future outlook of the industry. The conference hosts 30 speakers and 250 delegates from Jordan and the region, underlining the importance of the subject matter" Faisal Hakki, General Manager of Arab Advisors Group said.
