Abu Dhabi, UAE, 07 September 2015 - The 5th edition of the SPE Reservoir Characterisation and Simulation Conference and Exhibition will be held in Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi, from 14-16 September 2015. Organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), this event is supported by prominent companies in the oil and gas industry because of its highly topical content and theme.

This year's theme aims to examine innovative technologies to reduce operational uncertainty and maximise recovery. Medhat Abdou, vice president (developments), ADCO and conference co-chairperson says, "The benefit of this year's theme for engineers, geoscientist, and managers is that it will help them to characterise their reservoirs correctly and  build the right models for their reservoirs." Other committee members laud the event as an excellent opportunity to meet and network with peers and find solutions to common problems experienced in the industry, providing a platform to encourage the discovery of latest technologies and techniques.

The programme highlights include the executive plenary session titled "Integrated Reservoir Characterisation and Innovative Technologies to Reduce Uncertainties and Maximise Recovery" selected in recognition of the increasing complexity of extracting more oil and gas profitably from existing and new reservoirs. Three panel sessions will explore "R&D in the Eyes of Service Companies, NOC's, IOC's, and Academia"; "Human Resources - Attract, Develop, and Retain the Next Generation" and "Innovative Technologies to Unlock Potential Resources and Extend Field Life". Speakers will share innovative ideas, technologies, and techniques that will provide a deeper understanding of new and old hydrocarbon fields, demonstrating how technological progress can maximise asset value via further development and production enhancements.

The event will also include an exhibition running parallel to the conference with some of the industry's most renowned regional and international companies, as well as ePoster sessions highlighting diverse subjects on reservoir characteristation, EOR, petrophysics, IOR, static modelling, geomechanics, and more.

2015 sponsors include: Platinum Sponsor - Schlumberger; Gold Sponsors - Baker Hughes, ZADCO; Silver Sponsors - ExxonMobil and FEI; Lanyard Sponsor - Wintershall; Delegate Bag Sponsor - OMV; Stationery Sponsor - PARTEX Oil and Gas.

Participating companies include ADCO, ADMA-OPCO, ADNOC, Al Hosn Gas, CMG Middle East, DONG Energy, Dragon Oil, Emerson, Eni, IFP, PetroChina, Petroleum Development Oman, Shell, Tatweer Petroleum, Tendeka, The Petroleum Institute, and TOTAL ABK.
