This also supports one of our key objectives to provide opportunities for young local artists from various contemporary art disciplines to meet with international artists," Bin Kalli added.

Artists participating in Dubai Canvas will start working on their creations on 26th February at the event venue. Members of the public, as well as art students and professional artists, are invited to watch the master artists at work at La Mer.

Leading mural artists participating in the festival include Andreas von Chrzanowski, also known as Case; Joshua Santos Rivera, also known as Bikismo; Alex Senna; and Etien.

German Andreas von Chrzanowski, also known as Case, recently partnered with Brand Dubai to paint a mural featuring the UAEs founding fathers on the Hatta Dam. A photorealism pioneer for over two decades, Case has used the medium of spray paint to embrace the power of movement. He is a founding member of the renowned MaClaim Crew.

Joshua Santos Rivera a native of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, is credited with having painted the largest mural in the Caribbean. Working as a graffiti artist for 16 years allowed him to belong to prestigious urban art groups, among them The Nasty Boys (TNB) and Masters at Destruction (MAD). At the age of 19, he was invited to join the FX group, which was, at that time, considered as one of the best urban art groups worldwide.

Known mostly for his stunning 3D anamorphic works, French 3D muralist Etien is a versatile artist who has created works ranging from street art to commercial art. His works have been featured in the interiors and exteriors of offices, waiting rooms, facades, building fronts and events.

Alex Senna, a Brazilian street artist, will bring his vivid expressions of love to Dubai Canvas. Combining the languages of illustration, comics, and graffiti from the 1990s, this artist builds a playful, almost poetic narrative. Colour-blind, Senna has regularly used a single colour in his drawings. By exposing his viewers to the intimate lives of his characters, his works have ignited urban settings with the emotions of love and happiness.
