ArabFinance: The Egyptian government is implementing projects in New West Qena City at total investments of EGP 3 billion, housing minister Assem el Gazzar said in a January 25thstatement.

A total of 720 residential units have been carried out as part of the social housing project at a value of EGP 150 million, the minister said.

He added that another 2,544 units in 106 buildings are being executed at EGP 610 million in value.

The infrastructure works for West Qena phase I total EGP 1.1 billion, with a completion rate reaching 90% until press time, according to El Gazzar.

A land plot of 10,000 square meters has been allocated for building a private school, the statement said, yet no further details were disclosed.

Egypt has pledged EGP 1.7 billion to develop projects in Qena during fiscal year 2020/2021.
