Vodafone is deeply committed to Qatar which is why the company has invested QR1bn in the past 24 months alone in ensuring a world-class network in the country, said a top official of Vodafone Qatar.

Ian Gray OBE, CEO Vodafone Qatar,  who was a guest speaker at the Qatar-British Business Forum (QBBF) luncheon, highlighted that this big investment is in addition to launching a range of innovative products and services such as their Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.

The QBBF’s monthly event provides its members with a networking opportunity whilst authoritative guest speakers provide the audience with their own personal experiences of undertaking business in the country.  It is this collaboration of networking and sharing of information which members find particularly useful.

One of the forums key publications is the ‘QBBF Directory’ which profiles hundreds of companies it is affiliated with, a publication which Vodafone Qatar generously sponsored this year.

Gray shared his thoughts with business leaders at the event stating that Vodafone is one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, and one of the most recognisable, and best-known British businesses. Operating in 26 countries, partners with mobile networks in 49 more, and fixed broadband operations in 17 markets, Vodafone Qatar draws on the strength of the Vodafone Group Plc to bring the best of its global experience and most advanced technologies to Qatar, as it does in all the countries in which it operates.

Emad Turkman MBE, Chairman of QBBF said 'We are delighted to have a business person with a caliber of Ian Gray addressing our members.

Ian's achievements in business life is an example for all our members to appreciate and follow. Having Vodafone in our luncheon demonstrates QBBF's commitment to promote British businesses in Qatar.'

Gray said: “We will continue to deliver further innovative products and services and exceptional customer experience to our business customers in the country, helping them to achieve their strategic and commercial objectives. And continue to play our part as an active and engaged member of the business community alongside other members of the QBBF, helping to deliver the Qatar National Vision 2030 and enhancing the already strong ties that exist between Qatar and the UK.”
