INDEX will showcase décor items and installations that boast unique craftsmanship, historical lineage, innovation, and technology. Here’s a teaser for what you can expect to see and experience at the show in September…

A masterpiece from the 1700s

Commissioned in 1737 by Count Heinrich von Brühl, Prime Minister under King Augustus III the 'Swan Service' is a magnum opus created by Johann Joachim Kaendler and Johann Friedrich Eberlein. The visually powerful symphony of forms, colours, and displays of light inspired by the Greek mythology of water took five years to complete. The original service, designed for 100 people, comprised more than 2200 pieces.

Formed and painted by hand in the Meissen manufactory till date, this one-of-a-kind service from the royal court of August III brings an artistically elite Baroque banquet culture into the present times. Meissen is the oldest porcelain manufactory in Europe.

A 19th century award-winning design

'Lilies of the Valley' is award-winning artistry that dates back to 1861 when it was first created by Ludwig Gruner a professor at the Dresden Academy of Arts.

The following year it received a gold medal at the London World Exposition. Since then the design has retained its charm and magnetism through centuries and continues to be featured on the Meissen collection till date.

A movement-based olfactory experience

Presenting 31 design brands from across the globe, Ventura Projects returns for its second edition in partnership with INDEX. Spread over 1000 sq. meters will be a diligently curated showcase of creativity, ingenuity, craftsmanship, sustainability and unique design signatures.

Visitors will get to experience high-level craftsmanship, technology as well as delve into a scent installation by Dutch scent collective SOM Tales of Perfume. The installation titled ATMOS is made out of deconstructed botanical perfume. The visitor composes his/her own scent experience by physically moving through the environment to create memorable personal stories.

Marielle Robbe, Executive & Inspirator at SOM -Tales of Perfume says, “We know that using real 100% botanical perfume compositions is the only way to reach one’s deepest emotions”. Robbe explains that inspiration for the botanical perfume ATMOS lies in the personal perception of each individual. It is completely sustainable that allows the individual to connect with nature organically.
