Dubai: Emaar Properties has received four bids from local and international companies for Umm Al-Quwain canal contract.

The potential contenders are Netherlands’ BAM International, UAE’s Dutco Group, Dubai-based Overseas AST Company, and Belgium's Six Construct, according to MEED magazine.

Emaar launched this tender last January and received related offers in April.

The giant property developer retendered the Umm Al-Quwain canal contract to add other projects.

The canal is set to extend over 7.5 kilometres after the completion of all works.

Umm Al-Quwain Canal's contract includes digging a 1.5-kilometre canal, building a 3-kilometre dock, and paving 500 cubic metres of rocks.
