Dubai: Motorists will rejoice if Eid Al Fitr falls on Monday, as that will mean that parking will be free for the whole week starting from Saturday, June 24, until Friday, June 30.

The RTA confirmed that motorists will be exempted from paid parking in Dubai from Saturday up to Tuesday, June 27, if Eid falls on Sunday. Paid parking will be reactivated from Wednesday, June 28. However, if Eid falls on Monday, the free parking will last until Friday, June 30.

Metro timings for Eid Al Fitr holidays will also be extended until 2am starting from Thursday, June 22. till Monday, June 26.

Tram operations will be extended until 1am from Saturday, June 24, to Thursday, June 29.

Saturday night’s scheduled official moonsighting committee will determine which day is the first day of Eid, Shawwal 1 [Sunday or Monday].

Work hours

During the public holiday, a number of government departments have adopted specific Eid timings in order to continue facilitating public services for customers.

Some Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s government departments will be open, however, with shorter operational hours.

Dubai Health Authority (DHA)

DHA Hospitals: The Accident and Emergency Section will function as usual, but all outpatient clinics will remain closed during the Eid Holidays — except for Hatta hospital, as its family medicine clinic will be open from 7.30am to 8.30pm during the Eid holidays.

Primary Healthcare Centres: If Eid falls on Sunday, all centres will remain closed from Saturday, June 24, until Tuesday, June 27. Work will resume on Wednesday. Al Barsha Health Centre and Nad Al Hammar Centre will remain open 24 hours.

If Eid falls on Monday, all centres will be closed from Saturday, June 24, until Thursday and work will resume on July 1, except for Al Lusailly Health Centre, which will only be closed from June 24 to June 27 and will be open for five hours from 8am to 1pm from June 28 and June 29. Al Barsha Health Centre and Nad Al Hammar Centre will remain open 24 hours.

Medical fitness Centres: If Eid falls on Sunday, all centres will be closed from Saturday, June 24, until Tuesday. Work will resume on Wednesday, June 28. If Eid Falls on Monday, all centres will be closed from Saturday until Thursday and work will resume on July 2 — except for Al Muhaisnah Medical Fitness Centre, which will resume work on July 1.

Residency centres

For visa and immigration services, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs is offering its services from 9am to 1pm from Monday to Tuesday if the first day of Eid falls on Sunday.

However, if Eid begins on Monday, Al Manara Centre and Al Twar new centre will be open from 9am to 1pm on Sunday and Tuesday to Thursday.

The external centre at Dubai International Airport at Terminal 3 is open 24 hours all through the week.

Dubai Customs

To help individuals and companies clear their goods without any delay, Air customs centres at Dubai Cargo Village, Dubai Airport Free Zone (gate number 5), and Dubai Flower Centre will work round the clock.

The inspection section at Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre will work on Saturday, June 24, from 9am to 2pm, and in case the holiday is extended to July 2, Thursday, June 29 will be a working day.

Jebel Ali Inspection Centre and Dubai Logistics City Inspection Centre will work round the clock during Eid holiday; whereas, Jebel Ali customer service centre will work from the third day of Eid, from 8am to 2pm.

Port Rashid Customer Service Centre will work on Wednesday and Thursday (June 28-29), from 8am to 2pm.

Hatta Customs Centre will work round the clock, whereas Dry Docks and Dukamz centres will resume work on Wednesday, June 28, from 8am to 1pm, and on Thursday, June 29, from 8am to 1pm.

At coastal customs centres, the work hours will be as follows: round the clock work at exit and entry gates (inspection and marine operations), Deira wharfage (inspection), Dubai Clock Customs Centres (inspection), and Hamriya Port inspection centre.

Work at Hamriya Port Customs Centre will be from 8am to 2pm; whereas Dubai Creek Customs Centre and maritime operations centre will work from 7.30am to 1.30pm. Work hours at declaration management will be round the clock.

If Eid falls on Sunday, June 25, parking will be fee from Friday, June 23, until 7.59am on Wednesday, June 28.

If Eid falls on Monday, June 26, parking will be free from Friday, June 23, until 7.59am on Saturday, July 1.

Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport customer services in Abu Dhabi

All customer service centres will be closed over the Eid break.

If Eid falls on Sunday, June 25, the centres will open on Wednesday, June 28.

If Eid falls on Monday, June 26, however, the centres will open on Saturday, July 1.

Bus services

All services will operate as usual, except on the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain route. For further details, residents can call the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport at all times on 80088888.
