In Abu Dhabi – The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi announced that it has completed the implementation of the third phase of activating the automated payment system in Al Ain City and Al Dhafra Region. Therefore, bus users shall only use Hafilat Smart Cards, as paper tickets will no longer be accepted starting from September 30, 2018.

In order to facilitate the services offered to the public, Hafilat Smart Cards are available for purchase in all bus stations in Al Ain and Al Dhafra through Ticket Sales Offices. That is in addition to the Ticket Vending Machines (TVM).

DoT has already started the implementation and activation of the automated payment system using Hafilat Smart Cards that facilitate people’s every day transportation.

Forty one TVMs have been implemented in different areas in Abu Dhabi along with 138 Banknote Reloader (BBR). In Al Ain City, DoT implemented 11 TVMs and nine BBR. In Al Dhafra, DoT implemented eight TVMs and 11 BBR.

It is worth to mention that the implementation of the automated payment system aims to increase the quality of services offered to the public.
