Manama: The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance is pleased to announce a collaborative partnership with PECB (Professional Evaluation and Certification Board), an international training and certification body for persons, management systems and products on ISO standards, to deliver ISO-based trainings and certifications in Bahrain.

This initiative will provide expertise on multiple fields, including but not limited to Information Security, Business Continuity, Resilience and Recovery, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Privacy and Data Protection.

On this occasion, the BIBF Director, Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh stated, “The COVID-19 developments are unfolding at an accelerated pace and organisations may have a lot of gaps to cover in their Business Continuity Plans. What this pandemic is showing us is that more emphasis should be placed on quality governance and maintaining the right standards in business continuity and information security to achieve operational resilience.”

Dr. Al Shaikh also added, “We see this collaboration as an exciting way forward and are eagerly looking forward to aligning our knowledge and experience with the expertise and international reach of PECB.” On his part, the BIBF Head of Digital Transformation and Project Management, Mr. Ahmed Naeemi stated, “This partnership will surely strengthen the BIBF’s capabilities for delivering training in Information Security, Business Continuity and Data Protection, especially with market demand for ISO Standard trainings continues to grow.”

He also added, “This training initiative will equip business professionals with the necessary capabilities to shield themselves and their organisations against persistent, changing and undefined threats in a moderately challenging environment over a short period of time.” The CEO of PECB, Eric Lachapelle said, “Our success with the BIBF has allowed us to connect with our customers and deliver the services that they really want and need. PECB has built a strong reputation in the international market for its expertise and ability to develop and deliver training courses on many ISO standards.”

Lachapelle also added, “We are excited to partner with the BIBF and lend our expertise to help create better services for the Bahrain market. We look forward on growing this partnership as market demand for ISO Standard Trainings continues to grow.” Through this partnership, the BIBF will be offering a bundle of new certification training programmes to interested students which will be announced on BIBF’s website and social media channels in the coming period.
