PARIS- French Environment Minister Barbara Pompili said on Thursday that talks with the European Commission about a restructuring of state-owned French utility EDF will have to be completed quickly if the reform is to take place before the presidential election in May 2022.
"We need to conclude soon if we want to put this in place before the next presidential election," she told reporters.
Earlier on Thursday, Reuters quoted sources as saying that talks between Paris and Brussels about an overhaul of EDF EDF.PA are entering a final stage, with an outcome expected by the end of March.
