Dubai, UAE - The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has hosted with Low Pit Chen, Consul General of Singapore in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, to boost their cooperation in the maritime sector. Amer Ali, Executive Director of DMCA, and other DMCA senior officials from the authority has welcomed H.E’s visit which underscores the high confidence placed by the international community in Dubai as one of the world’s leading maritime centers. Ali emphasized DMCA’s commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation with leading maritime clusters in the world such as Singapore in line with its efforts to promote Dubai’s position as one of the top international maritime capitals.

Amer Ali, Executive Director of DMCA, said: “The meeting pave the way for stronger international cooperation and maritime trade relations between the UAE and Singapore. DMCA prioritizes building robust ties with global maritime leaders in an effort to attract new investments and help diversify the sources of revenues of both Dubai and the UAE as they continue to prepare for a post-oil future”.

He added: "The visit reflects the world maritime community’s trust and confidence in Dubai's capabilities to influence and shape the future of the maritime industry based on its pioneering experience in developing one of the most competitive and attractive marine clusters in the world."

Dubai has recently been named as one of the top five in the International Shipping Centre Development Index (ISCD), to become the first Arab city to achieve this top international recognition in the maritime sector, according to a recent report by Baltic Exchange, and Xinhua News Agency, a subsidiary of the China Economic Information Service (CEIS) based in London.
