Saadiyat Development and Investment Company has appointed contractor Shapoorji Pallonji to build Qaryat Al Hidd, a 160,000 square metre community that forms part of the Hidd al Saadiyat development on Saadiyat Island.

Qaryat Al Hidd contains two separate residential developments, Sunrise and Sunset, which will house 900 apartments spread across 12 buildings with waterfront views. The project, which has a development value of almost 1.54 billion United Arab Emirates dirhams, has been designed by B+H Architects, with Khatib & Alami as construction supervision consultant and Drees & Sommer handling project management and cost supervision work. A value for the construction contract was not disclosed.

Overall, the Hidd Al Saadiyat masterplan stretches over 1.5 million square metres of land and will house a number of five-star resorts, a marina and a yacht club.

Mohandass Saini, managing director & CEO Shapoorji Pallonji’s Middle East arm, said that it was “committed and geared to complete the project on time”.

The project is set to complete in September 2021.
