Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has set a third quarter submission deadline for its 600,000 cubic metres per day Rabigh 4 Independent Water Plant (IWP) project, located in Rabigh, 180 kilometres northwest of Makkah.

SWPC has set end of August as the submission deadline for the desalination project, a source told Zawya Projects.

Last month, Zawya Projects reported that SWPC had posted a Request for Qualification (RFQ) notice for Rabigh 4 IWP on its website without specifying the submission deadline.

Zawya Projects had also reported that a total of 39 companies had submitted expressions of interest for the project.

The source said the total investment for the project is estimated at around $500 million, adding that the plant is scheduled to start operations in the fourth quarter of 2025.

KPMG is the lead and financial advisor; Eversheds Sutherland is the legal advisor, and WSP is the technical advisor for Rabigh 4 IWP.
