JEDDAH - Saudi Arabia is considering raising domestic prices for gasoline and jet fuel by around 80% from November, sources disclosed.

Octane-91 grade gas price will increase from 75 halalas per liter to SR1.35 per liter.

The price of octane-95 grade gas will increase by 72 halalas. It will be sold at SR1.62 per liter compared to 90 halalas at present.

After increase, car fuel price will reach SR18 for the same quantity that is being sold at SR10 at present.

Motorists will have to pay SR36 to fill car tank with a quantity that costs SR20 at present.

The prices are set to be increased further in future.

It is noteworthy that the current price of fuel in Saudi Arabia is the lowest among all Gulf countries, as ordinary benzene is being sold in the Kingdom at less than half the price compared to the UAE, Qatar and Oman.

Premium benzene is being sold in the Kingdom at less than half the price as compared to the UAE.
