Saudi Arabia will award a project to build its largest logistics village in April after it extended the bidding deadline by four months, a newspaper said on Wednesday.
The Saudi Ports Authority (SPA) agreed to extend bidding for Khumra Logistics Village from four weeks to four months at the request of private investors, SPA chairman Saad Al-Khulb told the Saudi Arabic language daily Aleqtisadia.
"We will award this project in early April after bidding was extended to four months because of strong interest by the private sector," he said.
Khulb said the logistic village south of the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah will include services facilities, warehouses and manufacturing covering light products, vehicles, electronics and other industries.
