Saudi Arabia is building more than 34.000 houses in the Riyadh province as part of Sakani (my home) programme for providing housing to citizens, according to the Housing Ministry.

A statement posted on the Sakani website showed that 14 of the 24 housing projects in Riyadh are in partnership with the private sector and involve the construction of nearly 31,800 houses.

"... other projects by the Housing Ministry include villas and apartments in various parts of Riyadh province," the report said.

It said the projects also comprise schools, medical centres, shops, mosques, amusement facilities and parks.
