JEDDAH — The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has published the results of the non-binding Expression Of Interest (EOI) of Ras Al Khair desalination and power plant privatization.

Ras Al-Khair selected as the first asset for privatization as part of the broader privatization of SWCC's production assets, overseen by the Privatization Supervisory Committee for the water sector of Saudi Arabia.

Ras Al-Khair is an operating asset with 1.05m m3/d of water and 2.65 GW of power capacity.

A majority sale envisaged the proposed contractual structure in line with the market standard IWPP/IWP framework in the Kingdom.

A total of 37 EOls received from international and regional strategic and financial players.
