Riyadh -  The National Water Company (NWC), represented by the General Directorate of Water Services in Al Qassim region, has started implementing a number of key projects with a total cost of more than SAR 204 million.

The projects aim at increasing wastewater services coverage in Al Qassim, finding radical solutions for wastewater overflows, narrowing the environmental impact of wastewater pollution while improving the operating conditions and enhancing the region’s water system, according to a press release on Monday.

The director general of Water Services in Qassim region, Abdulmuhsin M. Al Furaihi, stated that a project costing more than SAR 57 million is currently in progress at the northern of Buraydah city. The achievement comprises the implementation of over 55,700 main and sub-pipework and more than 3,225 domestic connections, serving more than 24,832 new customers.

Another project is taking place at various areas in Buraydah (third stage) at a value exceeding SAR 87.7 million, laying some 88,000 main and sub-pipework and around 3,916 domestic connections to serve over 30,150 new customers, he explained.

Additionally, the company plans to implement a new water tank project at the northern of Buraydah at a value topping SAR 59.5 million with an initial capacity of 50,000 cubic meters.
