AMMAN — The consumer price index, a measurement of inflation, increased in the first five months of 2020 by 1.20 per cent, reaching 100.3 points compared with the same period in 2019, which amounted to 100.1 points.
According to the Department of Statistics’ (DoS) monthly report, the general index of consumer prices for May 2020 decreased by 1.22 per cent, reaching 100.4 points compared with 100.6 points for the same period in 2019, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
According to the report, the general index of consumer prices for May 2020 decreased by 0.65 per cent, reaching 100.4 compared with 101.1 in April. The basic index of consumer prices for May 2020 reached 68.5 compared with 67.6 during the same period of 2019, recording an increase of 1.33 per cent.
