AMMAN — To facilitate access to information about the Kingdom’s various events, activities and attractions for citizens and tourists alike, Tourism Minister Majd Shweikeh on Monday relaunched the calendar.jo website with modifications and improvements.

During the launch ceremony, Shweikeh said that the Tourism Ministry and the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) have cooperated with various public and private bodies to enhance the website and ensure that it attracts as many event organisers and beneficiaries as possible.

A mobile application will accompany the website, Shweikeh said, highlighting that the “Urduna Jannah” website had around 10,000 to 18,000 visitors following its launch; however, the number increased to about 80,000 users after creating the “Urduna Jannah” mobile application.

For his part, JTB Managing Director Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat said that calendar.jo “serves as a tour guide” and will direct interested people towards various events held in Amman and other cities, noting that the JTB has set a budget to advertise the website.

The designers embedded windows of useful websites such as Google Maps, Facebook, Arabia Weather and Jordan Trail in calendar.jo to ease the planning of events, Marketing Coordinator at the JTB Hala Khashman said.

She added that the incorporated windows would enable users to access the information they need without exiting calendar.jo.
