AMMAN — Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) on Monday said that its total losses in 2020 reached some JD64 million. According to its annual report, RJ said that it incurred a net loss of JD161 million in 2020 compared with a net profit of JD10.4 million in 2019, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The national carrier attributed the losses to the COVID-19 pandemic and closures of borders and airports around the world, which led to a halt of operations for long period in 2020.

Operational losses for RJ in 2020 are estimated at JD125 million compared with net operational profits of JD45.5 million the year before.
