Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: The Red Sea Mall in Jeddah was crowned with five prestigious awards from the GCC, Africa, Middle East Business Excellence Awards, during the annual award ceremony held at The Address Boulevard in Dubai on 3rd and 4th October 2018. The ceremony was attended by eminent leaders from various business sectors, senior economic specialists and other officials. The award was received on behalf of the Red Sea Markets Company, owner of Red Sea Mall, by Mr. Mohammed Al-Asiri, Marketing Manager at Red Sea Mall.

The awards won by the Center include The Best Shopping Center of the Year for ITAAM project that was aimed at reducing the waste of food and utilization of the leftover, non-used food by distributing it to the needy, the effectiveness of productive families campaign that benefited more than 300 families since the start of the project, and the Career Fair campaign, that paved the way for a large number of young people who want to work in the retail sector. The center also won The Best Marketing Campaign of the Year award, for the remarkable success and effectiveness of "Win the Key to Surprises and the Red Sea Mall Cup" activation campaign.

Commenting on the achievement, Al-Assiri said: “We are proud to have received these valuable awards that underscore our progress and position across shopping centers in the region. The recognition we have received through these awards is a tribute to the community we are operating in. They have placed their confidence in us which clearly reflects in our business and initiatives. Since inception, the Center has been working towards a clear vision to leave its mark within the shopping and entertainment sector by offering a wide range of comprehensive solutions.”

He added: "What really differentiates the Center is the creativity and proactivity in addressing subjects that are of interest to the Saudi community and the visitors to the city of Jeddah, which is the gateway of the two Holy Mosques. Awareness campaigns, community programs and Saudization initiatives played a major role in the successes we have achieved. We remain committed to maintain this level of excellence and double the effort to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030, which is the enhanced quality of life."

The five awards received by the center were recognized for achieving the community's sustainable development goals within the Saudi Vision 2030. The ITA’AM Project addressed the food wastage issue, whereby 30% of the food produced in the Kingdom was being wasted and valued at 49 billion Saudi Riyals annually. The recruitment campaign succeeded in opening up a large number of jobs in the retail sector. Due to its success, the recruitment process has been extended to achieve the goal of reducing the unemployment rate to 7% in cooperation with the efforts of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development. In the campaign for productive families, Red Sea Mall was a pioneer in the implementing this project, which started three years ago and benefited more than 300 families, some of whom are entrepreneurs of their own start-up ventures today.

As part of its vision to diversify the entertainment activities and initiatives, the Center has launched a chain of surprises involving a large number of retail outlets, targeting a large audience of visitors to the center. The campaign has played a major role in bringing about a whole new level of engagement and interaction. The center also did not overlook the young people who were effectively assigned to the "Red Sea Mall" in conjunction with the 2018 FIFA World Cup, a month-long event that brought a great deal of interaction between the visitors.

The "Red Sea Mall" has an interesting line-up of many activities, events and festivals throughout the year. It sponsors and supports awareness-raising activities, making it the main shopping and entertainment destination for the residents and visitors of Jeddah. It is also committed towards participating in the sustainable development of Saudi society and promoting and supporting the spirit of citizenship among the Saudi youth.
