Vintage and privately owned jewellery pieces never shown in Qatar before are displayed at a specially curated Central Exhibition - one of the new features of this year’s Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) which concludes today at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).

Under the theme ‘Once upon a time… luxury’, the exhibition is a stunning showcase of collections from Qatar’s leading luxury jewellery retailers Fifty One East, Al Fardan Jewellery, Ali Bin Ali and Al Majed Jewellery.

Displaying over fifteen exclusive pieces, the central exhibition enables jewellery aficionados to see a unique 18k yellow gold pocket watch detailed with a 30-minute counter and perpetual calendar presented to His Majesty King Fuad of Egypt by the Swiss Colony in Egypt in 1929.

Boucheron, the famous French brand available at Fifty One East, has lent pieces from its museum in Paris dating from 1902 to 1954. These include exquisite gold and diamond brooches, a matching powder case and lipstick holder detailed with diamond flowers, a square yellow gold ladies wristwatch with invisible clasp, and a purse made of twelve articulated panels.

Al Fardan Jewellery has bestowed a dazzling Piaget watch, featuring 217 beautiful baguette cut diamonds with a watch face which displays a radiant sunshine detail.

Ali Bin Ali presents a wealth of 1950s jewellery from the revered brand Van Cleef&Arpels. The collection includes a striking gold and diamond necklace and earring set which was part of the former collection of Her Imperial Highness Princess Soraya of Iran.

Al Majed Jewellery has two collections of striking natural pearls: a vast necklace featuring 2,569 individual pearls connected to five pieces of white diamonds and a jewellery set displaying natural pearls, diamonds and enthralling emeralds.

The Central Exhibition is a brand new feature of DJWE, giving visitors a rare opportunity to see unique pieces, each with a fascinating story to tell. This precious jewellery has travelled across the globe, handled with great care to ensure they long continue to enthrall jewellery enthusiasts.
