Mubasher: Qatar Fuel (Woqod) on Thursday announced the opening of two new petrol stations in Al Kharaitiyat and Al Thumama as part of its expansion plan to cover every area in Qatar.

By opening the new stations, Woqod raised its network of various petrol stations to 72, according to a filing to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

The Qatari firm is at pains to meet the rising demand for petroleum products and provide customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort.

Woqod will open several stations during this month and the coming period, the statement said.

Al Kharaitiyat covers an area of 11,300 square meters and has 3 lanes with 9 dispensers that will serve Al Kharaitiyat and its neighborhood, while Al Thumama, which is spread over an area of 7,000 square meters and has 3 lanes with 9 dispensers that will serve Al Thumama and its neighborhood.

Last week, the company opened two stations, namely Fox Hill and Woqod Hamad International Airport petrol stations (Woqod HIA) in Lusail.

For the first half of half of 2018, Woqod’s net profits hiked 34.9% to QAR 503 million, from QAR 373 million in H1-17.

By 11:19 am Qatar time, Woqod’s stock declined 0.43% at QAR 171.58.
