Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday's trading activities on a positive note for the fifth consecutive session, encouraged by the growth of six sectors.

The main index jumped 45.88 points, or 0.50%, to finish the mid-week session at 9,188.16 points.

The bourse’s trading volume reached 12.10 million shares on Tuesday, up from 8.35 million on Monday, while liquidity rose to SAR 278.78 million, from SAR 273.06 million.

The real estate sector increased 1.97% as Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development’s stock rose 4.2%, while the industrials sector inched up 0.53% after Aamal Company levelled up 4.40%.

The banking sector edged up 0.48%, boosted by the stocks of Qatar First Bank (QFB) and the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) which went up 3.60% and 0.52%, respectively.

On the flipside, the transportation sector fell 0.81% as Qatar Navigation’s (Milaha) stock dropped 2.43%, while Gulf Warehousing Company’s (GWC) stock declined 0.02%.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock, that rose 2.69%, was the most active in terms of trading volume after 3.5 million shares were exchanged, while QNB’s stock generated the highest liquidity after posting QAR 53.8 million.
