Dubai, UAE: Dubai Chamber released a new episode of its En Route to the Expo video series featuring Aamer Sheikh, President & General Manager,  PepsiCo, MENA and Pakistan, who spoke about the company’s Expo 2020 Dubai plans, and the significance of the mega event in tackling sustainability issues and fostering innovation.

Developed by Dubai Chamber in collaboration with Entrepreneur Middle East, the series features industry leaders discussing various business-focused programmes, services and experiences that Expo 2020 Dubai offers the private sector, governments and individuals from around the world.

Describing Expo 2020 Dubai as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity where people from around world will converge, Sheikh said the event provides the perfect platform for the best minds to develop innovative solutions that solve pressing global challenges.

“Expo 2020 Dubai is the ideal platform for people to collaborate to solve complex world issues, such as climate change, and to explore ways to achieve equal access to education, healthcare, digitalisation and sustainable food systems. Equally as important, people will come together at the Expo to have fun. PepsiCo and Expo share the vision of bringing enjoyment as well as sustainability to the event,” said Sheikh.

Sheikh elaborated on PepsiCo’s four-pronged approach for the event, which encompasses sustainability and innovation, fun and entertainment, thought leadership, and creating opportunities for internship, externship and volunteering. As the Official Beverage & Snack Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, PepsiCo will be promoting sustainable food-and-beverage solutions throughout the six months of the event.

Sheikh added that his company will use the power of its brand to bring PepisCo’s unique sense of fun to the Expo and present brand activations for visitors to experience enjoy. The brand has recently revealed its three Expo 2020 Dubai pavilions. With one pavilion in each of Expo 2020 Dubai Thematic Districts, these will offer refreshing perspectives on Expo 2020’s subthemes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability, through an exciting and engaging schedule of experiences, innovations and discussions.

PepsiCo will also participate at Theme Weeks taking place during the six months of the event, as part of Expo’s Programme for People and Planet.

“I am particularly looking forward to partnering with the Expo on the Food, Agriculture and Livelihoods Week, where we can connect with visitors and stakeholders in addressing how to build sustainable food systems,” Sheikh noted.

En Route to the Expo is running as part of the Business Connect series. The video series can viewed here, or on the websites and social media channels of Dubai Chamber and Entrepreneur Middle East.
