Oman's Ministry of Transport and Communication is seeking consultants for supervising civil and marine works at Shinaz Port in North Al Batinah Governorate.

The consultant will supervise the three projects - construction of an additional goat yard and allied buildings; design manufacture supply, installation of additional floating pontoons; and design and construction of quay wall at Shinas port, a notice on Oman's Tender Board website said.

Documents are available till 25 July 2018 and last bid submission date is 8 August 2018, as per the notice.

In April 2018, English language daily Oman Observer reported that the Ministry is in talks to partner with Omani private sector firms and Far East investors for developing Khasab and Shinas ports. The report noted that mandate to develop the both ports will be awarded to the same firm.

Italy's Sering Ingegneria has worked on the technical and economical feasibility studies and master plan for Shinaz port, according to the company's website. The master plan envisions fish farms, commercial port, marina, yacht and boat yards as well as residential, commercial, business and recreation areas.
