New state-of-the-art facility inaugurated at Saudi KAIA

Saudi Arabia - Under the aegis of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, the Aircraft Accessories and Components Company (AACC) marked the official opening of its state-of-the-art facility at the new King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) on Thursday.

In the new land area of 100,000 sqm, the facility was built on campus concept and was inaugurated by Ahmed Al-Khatib, advisor of the Crown Prince and chairman of the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), in attendance of the military advisor to the Crown Prince, commander of King Abdullah Air Base, Maj. Gen. Eng. Talal Al-Otaibi, Saleh Al Jasser, director general of Saudi Arabian Airlines, Dr. Mansour Al Eid, CEO of AACC, and a number of military, aviation and air force leaders.

In his opening speech, Al Eid welcomed his guests and expressed his great appreciation and gratitude to the Crown Prince, for sponsoring this inauguration. He said: “This launch is in part of the continuous support that the aerospace industry receives from the Crown Prince to carry out its responsibilities in order to achieve his directions and aspirations.”

He pointed out that the Aircraft Accessories and Components Company (AACC) is the perfect partner for aircraft repair and manufacturing solutions of military and civilian types.

Al Eid revealed that the new facility is designed according to the latest engineering specifications and equipped according to the latest international standards that meet the future aspirations of the Kingdom in the fields of manufacturing and maintenance of defense and aviation equipment in order to achieve its general strategy in keeping with the vision of the Kingdom.

He added that AACC, which was established in 1988, has ambitious plans and strong determination to develop and expand the contribution to the development of air and defense industries in the Kingdom and to serve its local and external partners and development of its employees.

He noted that the new facility will create jobs for Saudi nationals and raise their level and professionalism in the aviation industry. “This is part of the overall strategy of the company, which aims to Saudize 90% as part of the company's efforts to support Vision 2030,” he said.

On the side of the inauguration, the advisor of the Crown Prince and chairman of SAMI witnessed the signing of contracts between the AACC and Saudi Airlines, BAE Systems and Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industrie. AACC is an entity of the Economic Offset Program established under the auspices of Saudi Ministry of Defense. It is established to provide world-class Aircraft MRO and manufacturing solutions that are cost-effective, innovative, and sustainable. Delivering excellence, industrial localization, job creation and people development in line with Vision 2030.
