The Roads and Transport Authority has announced that Phase 6 of the roads leading to Expo 2020 project will open on Sunday.

According to tweets, this project -which includes an improved intersection of Emirates and Expo Roads- will be undertaken in response to directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to develop roads and transport networks for the upcoming Expo 2020.

RTA Director Mattar Al Tayer described the project as one of the biggest currently undertaken by the RTA to meet the needs of hosting the Expo 2020 in Dubai. He noted that the massive project has been divided into six phases, costing a total of about 3 billion dirhams.

The project aims to ensure a smooth flow of traffic for Expo visitors and to serve future projects in the area.
