Doha, Qatar: The Hamilton International School (“Hamilton”), an exciting new school in Mesaimeer, Doha and part of International Schools Partnership (ISP), is pleased to announce the appointment of Terry Senior as the new Principal, set to open its doors in August 2019.

ISP is a UK-based owner and operator of 39 schools globally, which also includes Park House English School, one of Doha’s oldest and most respected schools.

Terry Senior, an experienced Principal who has led several international schools, is set to build a strong team of international leaders and teachers who are committed to ensuring every child develops a love of learning and acquires the skills and knowledge they need for the future.

An accomplished professional, Terry’s experience goes back to 1991 when he started teaching in New Zealand, his home country, before moving internationally. He holds several post graduate qualifications in Educational Administration from Massay University which includes Managing Change, Innovation and Middle Management.

Commenting on his appointment, Terry says: “I am honoured to become part of the ISP family and to lead The Hamilton International School, which promises to deliver a holistic learning experience that balances academics, sports, arts and offers the best of international education to families in Qatar.”

As Head of School, Terry Senior oversees student development and the mentoring of educators who shall embody the culture that Hamilton stands for. Hamilton’s vision is to ignite children’s passion, encourage them to discover their purpose and realize their limitless potential.

Terry will also look after instilling the values and culture of Hamilton which genuinely values diversity; creating an environment where students feel safe so they can thrive and each student’ achievements are celebrated.

Hamilton is located on a large and magnificent campus in Mesaimeer. The brand-new purpose-built school features world-class facilities including the largest school theatre in Doha with an 850-guest auditorium and balcony, an orchestra pit, a large stage, and a fully-equipped production room. The state-of-the-art theatre will enable the school to nurture a sophisticated performing arts program, and it will also be used to host concerts, performances and other events.  

Other Hamilton facilities include an indoor sports centre with a full-sized basketball court, two swimming pools, tennis courts, dance studios, fitness centre and a seating area for large sporting events. The outdoor sports area includes a FIFA-certified football pitch and an athletics track setting a new standard for physical education in Doha.

The school offers the International Early Years (IEYC) and International Primary Curriculum (IPC), which is taught in over 2,000 schools across 98 countries. Students at Hamilton will eventually graduate with either an IB Diploma or a High School Diploma accredited by NEASC, a US accreditation organization.

Catering to students ages 3 -10 years, during its first year of operation, Hamilton will grow and expand to eventually become a pre-KG through Grade 12 school.  Along with Terry Senior, as Head of School, a highly-experienced and passionate team of international teachers are on board with a commitment to ensure that every child develops a love of learning and acquires the skills and knowledge they need for the future.

Hamilton is now taking registrations for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5 (Year 6) for its first academic year beginning August 2019.
