Master developer Nakheel on Wednesday said it has appointed Dar Al Handasah to provide infrastructure design, engineering and site supervision services for its Madinat Al Arab mixed use project at Waterfront in Jebel Ali.
The development spans five zones across a 522-hectare site, a Nakheel press statement said, adding that infrastructure design for four of the five zones is almost complete, with the infrastructure construction tender due for release in second quarter of 2017.
The statement said the 42-tower Jebel Ali Gardens community is under development while the Waterfront communities of Veneto and Badrah totalling 800 homes and a community retail centre is due to open this year.
In September 2016, Nakheel announced the appointment of six companies to oversee the design and construction supervision of the 7.5 billion dirhams Jebel Ali Gardens project. The developer said a construction tender will be released in first quarter 2017, with anticipated completion in first quarter 2020.
