RIYADH: More than 20 renowned Saudi artists displayed their works at an exhibition inaugurated by Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar in the mud houses of the King Abdulaziz Historical Center on Sunday.

The show, dubbed “Our Heritage is Our Love,” is being held for the fourth consecutive year. It highlights the significance of Saudi heritage through paintings, photography, sculpture and compositional and conceptual works by male and female artists from all parts of the Kingdom.

Following a tour of the show, the Riyadh governor said that the works were not only original but also gave a clear insight into the Kingdom’s cultural heritage. “The exhibition revives historical value, discovers the authentic past, shows a contemporary vision and promotes national and cultural identity,” he said.

One of the participants in the exhibition, Dana Al-Turki, said: “I am able to effectively express the country’s rich heritage and Saudi customs in the art of design. It is employed to express various forms of Saudi customs through radiant colors.”

Al-Anoud Al-Ajmi, another artist, said her experience of using natural materials lets her display the aesthetics of the landscape in the form of documentation.
