The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, represented by Sharjah Training & Development Center, organized a ceremony to honor the winners of the ‘Be Bold’ program to develop the entrepreneurial skills of youth in the healthcare field and to enhance innovations in four medical specialties, including cardiovascular disease, mental health, obesity among children, and elderly care.

Present at the ceremony were His Excellency Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Support Services Sector, and Saqr Alhemeiri, Director of Training & Development Center.

Launched in cooperation between MoHAP and the Entrepreneur Magazine, the Be Bold Program is the first of its kind program for youth leadership. The program aims to develop perceptions, thoughts, and innovations via a broad range of internal and external activities, where the winning project will be sponsored by the Training & Development Center.

Sustainable investment in innovation

Awad Saghir Al Ketbi congratulated the winners and urged them to step up efforts and boost their skills, underlining that MoHAP attaches special importance to the programs and initiatives that help enhance sustainable investment in creative youth and build capacities in the health filed.

“Our goal is to cater to the changing demands of health development and health requirements of community members, as well as bolster MoHAP’s competitiveness at the level of government services, in line with the National Agenda and Innovation Strategy, which focused on the role of the health sector in leading the future innovation process. This would be a roadmap for the provision of the AI- and smart-technology-based health and therapeutic services.

Attracting talents

Saqr Alhemeiri said: “The Be Bold Program has attracted 25 talents working in the healthcare sector to develop various projects and solutions in four vital medical specialties. This would help participants develop and enhance their personalities and skills through a variety of in-house workshops on winning behavior for leaders, design thinking, and prototype.”

Alhemeiri stressed that this comes as part of MoHAP’s commitment to instilling principles and concepts of innovation practices in accordance with the best international standards, as well as consolidating the institutional environment that supports innovation practices and their effective implementation.

He went to say that the participants have benefited from the professional lessons launched by the Center on Be Bold’s website, which aim to achieve the best sought-after results, identify the workplace-related development projects, expand the scope of the culture of innovation, and measure impact and growth to ensure qualitative and constant improvement.
