Muscat: Adding to the vast array of convenient services offered to its Mobile Banking users, Maisarah Islamic Banking Services – the Islamic banking window of BankDhofar - recently introduced a new feature that allows existing customers to update their ID/ Resident Card expiry date instantly through the mobile application without the need to visit the branch.

Maisarah is the first financial institution in Oman to provide instant update of ID expiry date without manual input by customers or service agents. With seamless scanning of the ID card, the system captures the new expiry date and updates the customer’s profile automatically without any human intervention.

Highlighting the Islamic window’s efforts to bring in state-of-the-art digital banking solutions, Marwan Mohammed Al Zadjali, Head of Digital Banking at Maisarah, stated: “Our innovative mobile app is a full-fledged smart banking platform that has been designed thoroughly with the utmost attention to details in order to offer 24/7 convenience to our customers at their fingertips. We are constantly looking for opportunities to improve the platform and to introduce new services and features that add value to our customers and give users the ultimate banking experience they deserve.”

The new feature adds to the expansive bundle of services offered via Maisarah’s mobile banking application where customers can get their transactions completed in simple steps anytime and anywhere. “Like the rest of our digital banking channels, the mobile application is highly secure and we constantly add more safety and security measures so our customers can utilize these services with complete peace of mind. By investing in technology, we make it easier for customers to get their financial transactions completed in real time,” elaborated Al Zadjali.

Maisarah’s mobile banking application is available on Android and IOS devices, with enabled face recognition, fingerprint login and Touch ID. Moreover, the pioneering application encompasses a host of self-services; including mobile top-up (Omantel, Ooredoo, Friendi and Renna), mobile phone and landline bill payment (Omantel, Ooredoo), internet bill payment (Omantel, Ooredoo, Awasr), water and electricity utility bill payment, debit card services (card details, limit change, card block, country unblock), credit card services (payment,  card details, statements, card block), fund transfer (self-transfer, third party transfer, within-Oman transfer, instant transfer), standing orders and cardless cash.
