Sanitary wares manufacturer Lecico Egypt has announced the reopening of one of its Borg El-Arab factory following a two-week closure.

The factory, which produces 35% of the groups sanitary wares products, was forced to close in mid-April due to some of its workers testing positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a Thursday disclosure to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), the company said that the factory, a subsidiary of Lecico for Ceramic Industries, has resumed production. It is also taking the necessary preventive measures to curb any further spread of the virus.

The company has also announced the closure of another factory belonging to one of its subsidiaries in Borg El-Arab for two weeks, due to confirmed coronavirus cases. The International Ceramics Factory produces 55% of the group’s total production.

Lecico Egypt said the factory will be closed for two weeks, upon Ministry of Health instructions, as workers go into isolation.
