This year, the University of Birmingham Dubai has launched two new programmes in International Law, and Psychology. The leaders of these courses have been announced, with David Holloway being appointed as Director of the LLM in International Commercial Law and Senior Lecturer in Law, and Olivia Goncalves leading the Psychology programme in Dubai as Deputy Director of Foundation Psychology.

As an expert in international trade law and dispute resolution, David has practiced as a barrister in London for many years, specialising in international commercial disputes, and is a panel arbitrator with many leading arbitral institutions. David comes to Dubai from Hong Kong, where he held an academic appointment for a leading UK university, as well as other leading universities in Asia.

Olivia brings significant experience in Higher Education in the Middle East, having pioneered the School of Foundation Studies, and overseen the Teaching & Learning Centre, for Curtin University in Dubai. Her research interests include cognitive learning, diversity in leadership and psychological drivers of decision-making.
