Riyadh – Saudi BinDawood Holding said the Commercial Court of Jeddah dismissed the patent infringement case filed against its subsidiary, Danube Company for Foodstuffs and Commodities, by Arab Dalla Company at the first hearing on 10 March 2021.

The dismissal came as “the plaintiff failed to establish its title over the patent and therefore lacks the capacity to pursue litigation,” BinDawood said in a stock exchange statement on Thursday.

The Tadawul-listed firm is evaluating filing a countersuit against Arab Dallah Company for material and immaterial compensation.

In February 2021, Arab Dalla filed a lawsuit against Danube, claiming compensation of SAR 124.125 million for patent infringement in addition to legal fees of SAR 300,000.
