HAMBURG - Jordan's main state grains buyer has again issued an international tender to purchase 120,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat which can be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Friday.

The tender closes on May 16.

Jordan has struggled to make purchases in a series of grain tenders in recent months, with traders saying uncertainty about quality specifications and payment terms has reduced participation by major grain exporting houses

But recent tenders have been more successful, with 60,000 tonnes of wheat bought by Jordan on Wednesday and 60,000 tonnes of barley on Tuesday.

The new tender sought wheat in a series of possible shipment combinations in 60,000 tonne consignments between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31.

Jordan traditionally issued tenders for 100,000 tonnes but the volume has been increased to 120,000 tonnes because of extra port capacity, traders said.

Jordan has also issued a separate international tender for 120,000 tonnes of feed barley closing on May 15, traders said on Friday.
