Manama, Bahrain (7 March 2016)

"Reach two Kingdoms via one Route" for Bahrain International Airport by J. Walter Thompson Bahrain scored gold in the airport creative category at Air Transport World's (ATW) annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards, held at the Singapore Air Show.

The ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards are in their 42nd year, and recognize excellence in the air transport industry, partnering with independent research organization SIGNET.  Awards are given to individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves through outstanding performance, innovation, and superior service.  The airport creative category is judged by 111 international jurors ranging from Chief Executive Officers to directors, middle managers and planners.

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has been successfully managing and operating the Bahrain International Airport since 2008 with a clear vision of sustaining and building its position as an attractive hub driving future connections between Bahrain and the rest of the world.

Commenting on the success of the advertisement, Mohamed Khalil, Chief Commercial Officer at BAC said, "We've been receiving praise for the "Reach two Kingdoms via one Route" since it was first published and winning this award is a testament of our successful partnership with J. Walter Thompson Bahrain and  a reflection of our ability to capture and convey the core strengths of Bahrain International Airport in a creative manner. Being recognized for our work in the international arena is a great honor for our organization and definitely sets the benchmark for future campaigns".

Leveraging the insight that Bahrain International Airport provides access to 5 million residents living across the causeway, J. Walter Thompson Manama created "Reach two Kingdoms via one route". The ad specifically targets airlines with a message to fly via Bahrain International Airport, and playfully depicts the extent of Bahrain International Airport's catchment area via the King Fahad causeway - a 25 km long bridge built in the Gulf of Bahrain, connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia - as a runway.

Commenting on the win, Adnan Alarrayed, Business Director J. Walter Thompson Bahrain said, "In working alongside our client partner Bahrain Airport Company in their quest to strengthen the competitive advantage of Bahrain International Airport, we are proud to be providing solutions for one of their strategic business goals - building stronger relationships with international airlines. Having this recognized by the airline industry's prestigious professional body is a tremendous accolade."
