Iraq has launched a project to build one of its largest tourism city that comprises shopping malls, amusement centres and other facilities, the official Iraqi newspaper Alsabah said on Monday.
The project is located nearly 40 km north of Mosul City in the Northern Nineveh governorate and will be completed within one year, the Arab language daily said, quoting Nineveh's governor Najm Al-Jabbouri.
"This is a major project as it comprises one of the largest tourism cities in the country...it is funded by local investors and it includes malls, hotels, a large fun city and other facilities. we expect it to be ready within a year," he said without mentioning costs.
