Imkan, a globally reputed property developer renowned for creating soulful places that enrich people’s lives, has reported significant progress across its portfolio of domestic and international residential and mixed-use developments.

The UAE-based group said work has started on three of its big projects in Abu Dhabi - Makers District, Nudra and Sheikha Fatima Park along with its Egyptian development -Alburouj - in capital Cairo.

Imkan will be showcasing state-of-the-art models of its developments in the UAE, Egypt and Morocco at its stand during Cityscape Abu Dhabi.

CEO Walid El Hindi said: "We are truly proud of the headway we are making across our projects at home and abroad. We are not simply building homes and offices, we are shaping a whole new mindset in real estate."

"Our projects bring a unique design sensibility, quality and way of life to the cities they are part of. We are confident that once complete, our destinations will generate unparalleled interest as they meet the residential and workplace needs of a vibrant, creative, and socially conscious community," stated El Hindi.

On the progress made at Makers District, an 18-hectare master-planned development on Reem Island, Imkan said the renowned local engineering and contracting firm National Marine Dredging Company had nearly completed the reclamation of six hectares of land for public use.

As per the schedule, the enabling works for Pixel, the creative residential component of the district – including 700 lineal m of shoring, 180,000 cu m of excavation, and over 900 permanent piles – will begin in the second quarter of 2018.

Imkan also started excavation on its Nudra development, laying the foundations for the striking community that is taking shape in the Cultural District on Saadiyat Island.

The project, which comprises 37 shell-and-core high-end beachside villas, offers residents the creative opportunity to design their own bespoke home. The construction work is being handled by the joint-venture of global constrcutiion groups Wates and Eastern.

Wates is a renowned UK company that has executed restoration works on Buckingham Palace and St. Paul’s Cathedral, while Sharjah-based construction and civil engineering firm Eastern brings to the table four decades of experience of the local market.

In a bid to add more than just mixed-use developments to the capital’s landscape, Imkan has awarded the contract for the construction of Abu Dhabi’s first open-air leisure and entertainment green, Sheikha Fatima Park, to leading local contractor Al Fara’a that has already commenced preliminary works.

Spanning 46,000 sq m – roughly the size of Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi – the park will be the first project in the capital to merge F&B (food and beverages) and retail with tranquil green open spaces.

Imkan said besides the UAe projects, construction is also well underway on Alburouj – a fully integrated community, situated in the rapidly developing residential area of East Cairo.

It is set to include more than 1,200 mixed-type units spanning over 5 million sq m. The project includes the stunning Sheikh Zayed Mosque that pays homage to the UAE's founding father.

Imkan said the first residential communities of Alburouj are slated for handover in the second quarter next year.

Meanwhile, the company will highlighting its research and development platform during the Cityscape Abu Dhabi through the Imkan Box, a research lab, atelier, and creative studio that leverages cutting-edge technology, research, and design to bring its upcoming projects to life.

Representing a meeting of minds, the Box is emblematic of the multi-disciplinary approach that propels Imkan’s innovation and growth., said the company statement.

Imkan aims to expand its international and national footprint through unique projects that support and enhance local culture while seamlessly blending into the communities in which it operates, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
