Event at Harbour House to featured top line of senior speakers and leaders on women’s advancement

Manama: FinMark Communications, in partnership with Bahrain Business & Professional Women International Federation (BPW Bahrain) and Britus Education, the education investment arm of GFH Financial Group, Held a high-level roundtable on 7 December 2021 on the “Power of Education on Gender Balance” in celebration of annual Bahraini Women’s Day 2021 being held this year under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This year’s celebrations coincide with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and its mission to support the advancement of women in the Kingdom.

The event was taking place at GFH’s Harbour House development and focus on the role that education at all levels plays in supporting the development and progress of girls and women in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the ongoing work of the SCW in promoting equity and the elevation of women and their roles in society and the economy.

Speaking at the event was a distinguished panel including:  H.E. Shaikha Hind Bint Salman Al Khalifa, President, BPW Bahrain, Dr. Essam Ismaeel Al-Alawi, Director of Training and Manpower Development and Fatema Kamal, Acting CEO, Britus Education. The talk was moderated by Zahraa Taher, Managing Director, FinMark Communications.

Commenting, Ms. Taher, said, “We are delighted to be bringing together with BPW and Britus a distinguished group of women and  discussed the critical role of education is supporting gender balance and the advancement of women at all levels. In line with the 20th anniversary of the SCW, this year’s annual celebration of Bahraini Women’s Day are especially important in highlighting the vision of Bahrain’s leadership and the pioneering role the Kingdom has played in advancing and promoting the position of women in the region. We had a fruitful discussion and insights from some of the Kingdom’s top proponents of women and education.”

Added, Ms. Fatema Kamal, Acting CEO, Britus Education “Education has a pivotal role in empowering women and achieving gender balance. But the ultimate goal of women's education remains to activate their strategic role to achieve sustainable development.”
