Dubai:  Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, today announced the launch of its first branch with Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) at City Centre Mirdif, marking a new milestone in the bank’s digitisation journey aligned with its customer-centric philosophy.

The ITMs will offer convenient banking and payment solutions that will allow customers to seamlessly carry out a variety of transactions as well as apply for new products on their own. Marking a first for Emirates Islamic, the new branch will be equipped with two ITMs that offer customers a personalised banking experience via a video personal teller.

The ITM, developed by US-based NCR, the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, will offer banking services at extended hours at the City Centre Mirdif branch. The ITM elevates the traditional ATM experience by incorporating a real time video connection that enables customers to interact with a teller, similar to a branch experience, with extended timings.  In addition, it offers significantly enhanced services with a human touch, including the option to use Emirates ID to conduct transactions such as encashment or deposit of multiple cheques and enquiries about accounts, in addition to cash deposit and withdrawal.

Farid Al Mulla – Deputy Head of Consumer Banking and Wealth Management, Emirates Islamic, said: “As a digital leader in the Islamic banking sector, Emirates Islamic consistently makes strategic investments in technological solutions that enhance our front-end and back-end banking operations, in line with our ongoing digital transformation journey. By offering self-service options, video teller services, and extended working hours, we are confident our new branch with Interactive Teller Machines at City Centre Mirdif will enable us to cater to a greater number of customers with enhanced efficiency and best-in-class service.”

Emirates Islamic is a digital frontrunner among peers in the Islamic banking sector, with a long-term commitment to bring banking innovation to UAE customers. Following on from being the first Islamic bank in the UAE to offer all three major wallets –Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay – Emirates Islamic became the first Islamic bank in the world to introduce WhatsApp Banking for its customers.
